Learn Spanish (Espanol) by Jim

These are some useful phrases in Spanish.  Most are quite common and are normally seen in lists such as this.  Others I add as I notice they are common in everyday Spanish.

Hola - Hello

Adiós - Goodbye

Gracias - Thanks / Thank you

Buenas Dias - good morning/good day

Buenas Tardes - good afternoon (used after lunch until dark)

Buenas Noches - good night

Como estas?  - How are you?

No me digas - Don't tell me!  or Really!

Que pasa?  - What is going on?

Me Gusta... - I like (singular) ...

Me Gustan... - I like (plural) ....

Examples of the last 2:

Me gusta esta pelicula.  (I like this movie)

Me gustan los perros. (I like dogs)

Short, simple example:

Julio - Hola Juan!  Buenas dias!  Que pasa?

Juan - Hola.  Nada.  Como estas?

Julio - Bien.  Y tu?

Juan - Bien, bien.
